SRH Consulting is excited to announce the launch of our new industry service line "Smarter Recycling & Waste Management Solutions" that seeks to support:

• the Australian government’s recent $200M investment into the Recycling Modernisation Fund

• the Australian government's $1.0B commitment for investment into new waste and recycling legislation with a new national industry framework to be introduced by 1 Jan 2021 as announced by Prime Minister Scott Morrison on 28 Aug 2020

• $1B plus national business investments by leading Australian companies to drive a billion dollar transformation of Australia's waste and recycling capabilities.
  

We are looking forward to working with the Australian federal and state governments and leading Australian and European waste and recycling companies Cleanaway Waste Management TOMRA Cleanaway Pact Group Holdings Ltd Visy Asahi Beverages, Australian Council of Recycling and the Danish counter party Dansk Retursystem A/S.

The service line will offer management consulting services to the Australian recycling and waste eco-system to help build new capabilities, operating models, processes, technology and data solutions that will innovate and transform waste & recycling practices for the Australian government, people, businesses and communities in line with the Recycling Modernisation Fund and new waste and recycling legislation to be introduced by the Australian Federal Government by January 2021.

1. Site visit to Cleanaway - Tomra Joint Venture in Eastern Creek (Sydney) on 3 Aug 2020 to meet with CEO James Dorney and CFO David Hill to discuss and celebrate the highly successful NSW Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) managed on behalf of the NSW State Government as the Network Operator. The performance metrics from the scheme are impressive:

• Performance: 4.86B containers collected since Dec 2017
• Cost / Benefit: $427M refunds paid, $10.4M to NFPS
• Jobs: 700 direct jobs created
• Efficiency: 635 return points and 95% RVM availability
• Community: 86% adults, $1M thru 600 schools & 430 CG
• Circular economy: 265,000 tons of recycled materials
• Beverage industry: 888 participating suppliers

2. Webinar with CEO Lars Krejberg Petersen CEO, Dansk Retur System on 24 Aug 2020 to discuss the waste and recycling journey of Denmark over the last 15 year regulatory period that has now culminated in the adoption of phase 3 allowing juice and milk containers inclusion in the Return and Earn Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) in Denmark.

3. Formal launch of SRH Consulting's new web site on 1 Sep 2020.

4. Virtual Summit "Next Wave in Waste and Recycling" in Sydney QTR1 2021 and Copenhagen QTR2 2021 with Australian and European Senior Executive representation. Watch the space for future announcements on key note speaker.
